dc.description.abstractFrom the n-hexave soluble fraction from the methanol extract of the rhizomes of Alpinia gagnepainii K. Schum. (Zingiberaceae), a (4:1)-mixture of b-sitosterol and stigmasterol (1) and b-sitosterol glucoside (2) were isolated, the structure of the which has been identified by MS, 1H- and 13C-NMR spectroscopy. The antimicrobial activity and the antioxidant effect of thes extracts from the rhizomes of Alpinia gagnepainii were investigated.en_US
